Programs |
Programs are available to active Washington Stars Quilt Guild Members, included in annual dues. There is a $10 fee for Non-Members to attend Programs. Program details will be added as information becomes available. Please check back often! If you would like to become a Member, click here |
Unless otherwise noted, Zoom will open at 6:45pm with Programs beginning at 7pm. |
We are almost done contracting with speakers for 2021 but still have openings for a speaker and class in October and a speaker for November. Soon we will be contacting speakers for the 2022 year. This is your guild and we would like to present speakers that would be of interest to you. Remember, they need to be able to present over zoom for this year and we anticipate that the beginning of next year may also be over zoom. If you have any ideas for the Program Committee please send us their name and contact information or if there is a topic of interest we have resources to find speakers by topic.
Any ideas should be sent to: Rebecca Kramer or Pat Gibbon See Membership Directory for contact information |

Tracey Brookshire, "Love Affair with Japan II" via Zoom 7:00 - 8:00 pm Tracey will show us her photographs of the 2015 Tokyo International Great Quilt Show. You’ll see all types of gorgeous Japanese quilts and learn how they are made. Tracey has been to Japan three times to learn about the quilting culture, which was partly inspired by a Little House on the Prairie quilt that was imported from the US to Japan by the wives of Japanese PhD students. www.traceybrookshier.com |

Sue Sherman Sue’s lecture and trunk show highlights her quilts and their stories. www.sueshermanquilts.com May 22 (Part 1) and May 29(Part 2), 2021 from 9:00 to 12:00 on Zoom. May’s “Wild Animal Appliqué” workshop offers three different creative wild animal designs for you to choose from.
All these designs use a raw edge applique technique. In the first day of this two-day class, you will learn how to make the quilt top using Sue Sherman’s jigsaw puzzle method of cutting and placing pieces. In between the first day and the second day, students will review the class videos and make specific changes as needed. On the second day, students will learn the quilting techniques to finish the quilts. Patterns and material kits can be purchased from Sue. A special price will be given to the guild if enough students sign up. People interested in taking this class, must sign up ASAP because of the amount of time it takes to ship materials from Canada. For more information about this workshop and to view the patterns, please see her website https://sueshermanquilts.com/ scroll down the home page to view the patterns available for this class.
