She's a transplant from sunny southern California and now living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.Guild members Kathy Goodin and Dianne Saugier heard her speak when we were traveling with the Guild Raffle Quilt 2 years ago.  Her talk is much more than a trunk show; she gives you an insight on how to use color, and variation to make your scrappy quilt shine.

Suzie Parron presents:
'Follow the Barn Quilt Trail'
barnquiltinfo.com
I travel full time by RV, speaking to quilt guilds, libraries, civic organizations--whoever would like to hear more about barn quilts! My talk will take you on a journey along the quilt trail, beginning with the very first barn quilt, which stemmed from Donna Sue Groves and her wish to honor her mother's quilting art. The presentation features over one hundred stunning photographs of barn quilts, some of which rival cloth quilts in their intricacy. You will hear stories of some of the individuals who have painted quilt blocks to honor loved ones or their local culture, along with a few humorous anecdotes

Class:
July 17               Suzie Parron, Class: Painting Barn Quilt Blocks
Barn Quilt Painting Workshop with Suzi Parron Join the barn quilt movement by creating your own painted quilt block. You will begin with a pre-primed board and go through each step—drafting, taping, and painting, with careful attention to detail. The workshop lasts about 4 hours. You will leave with a finished quilt block or with one last color (which will be provided) to add at home. Ready for show and tell at your next meeting!
