Welcome to Washington Stars Quilt Guild

Our Guild provides a forum for sharing our interest in the art and craft of quilting in all its forms through regular membership meetings, special programs, quilt shows, classes, group projects and charitable works.  Please step inside our website and take a look at what we do.

You are welcome to attend one of our meetings generally held on the first and third Tuesdays of the month. However, occasionally meetings are held on different nights.  Please check our calendar to confirm meeting date.  Doors open at 6 pm with meetings beginning at 7 pm.  We meet at St Benedict’s Episcopal Church, 910 Bowker St SE, Lacey WA 98503.

Reminders for August:

WSQG Picnic
The annual picnic will held in lieu of our August program meeting on August 16th at Tumwater Historical Park.  This year we are going to have a Hawaiian theme so break out your best Hawaiian attire and island food.  Drinks and tableware will be provided. Dinner will be served starting at six.  Hawaiian dancers will provide entertainment and lessons for anyone who is interested in learning a Hawaiian dance.  Also, we will have several demos of Hawaiian quilting, a couple of raffle items, and once again you can bring items to sell before dinner.  If you want to sell anything bring your own table.  If you have any questions call Cory Plantenberg at 866-8806 or Pat Gibbon at 206-715-6541.  Hope you can join us.

*  9”  finished house blocks found at www.allpeoplequilt.com. There is a free pattern under the title “Where the Heart is”.  This is also an excellent resource for all types of pieced and appliqued blocks.

 *  Laura Wasilowski’s book “Colorful Quilts/Fanciful Stitches”.  This book has a lot of great ideas for making houses using fused techniques and embellishing with easy embroidery stitches.  The library has a copy.
